The four tiles under a recipe's title (kcal, protein, carbs, fat) are an estimate built from the ingredient list β the caption says so, and common foods use real per-100g nutrition data from public food databases. Tap the π₯ kcal tile to correct the calories and the tiles rescale. Premium+ members can ask Sous Sprout β Nutrition for an exact AI nutrition card with allergen flags.
Yes! On Home β π₯ Critics, tap any critic to open their kitchen, then tap Chef ___ Cookbook to browse everything they've published β searchable and filterable just like your own cookbook. Open a recipe and tap Save to keep a copy. Your cookbook is shared with your accepted friends automatically; Family Secrets are never shared.
Add your items under Grocery & Planning β Pantry, tap the ones you want to use tonight in the quick-pick row, then tap β¨ Generate Recipe. Your cookbook is ranked against just those items; leave nothing picked to match the whole pantry.
Yes β tap Share / Send toβ¦ on the post and choose CookwithFriends in the share sheet. The app opens and imports the link automatically; if it doesn't open by itself, just open CookwithFriends and the shared link imports on launch.
No. CookwithFriends works fully on your device without an account β just tap Continue as Guest. Sign in only if you want to sync across devices or use social features like friends and shared grocery lists.
Sign in with the same account (Email/Password, Google, or Apple) on each device. Your recipes, cook logs, grocery lists, groups, and settings sync automatically to your account.
Tap the Messages (π¬) icon to open your conversations, pick a friend or group, and send text messages. To share a recipe into a chat, open the recipe, tap Share β Send to a friend or group, and choose who to send it to β it drops into that conversation as a recipe card the other person can open and save. Messaging requires signing in and adding the person as a friend first (Profile β Friends).
Find a photo searches free stock-photo services (Pexels, TheMealDB, and Openverse) by your recipe's name and lets you pick an image; the photographer is credited. Calorie figures are estimates only β the app parses your ingredient list against a built-in food table and free nutrition databases (USDA FoodData Central, Open Food Facts, and wger). They are not lab-verified; please don't rely on them for medical or dietary decisions.
Open the paywall and tap Restore Purchases to re-apply a previous purchase on a new device. To view, change, or cancel a subscription, go to your iPhone Settings β [your name] β Subscriptions. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
Unfortunately, no. Family Secrets are encrypted on your device with a passphrase that is never sent to us, so we cannot read, reset, or recover that content. Please keep your passphrase somewhere safe.
Use the Report and Block controls on any feed post, comment, or chat message. Blocking a user hides their posts and messages from you. We review reports and remove offending content or accounts, typically within 24 hours. You can also email us at the address above.
Go to Profile β Settings β Your data β Export to save a backup file, and Import to restore it. The app is not a backup service, so we recommend keeping your own copy.
Go to Profile β Account β Delete account. This removes your account and all synced cloud data and cannot be undone. Data stored only on your device stays there until you clear it or uninstall the app.
